Today we launched the new website LIVE on BBC Radio Suffolk on the Breakfast show with Luke Deal. We met up in Jewellery by Tony Strowger with Debby Strowger and also Anne Hawes from 3 Cats Vintage in St John’s Street.
Luke asked James Sheen about why the website was launched. James endorsed how important it is for businesses to be supported equally and how it could also empower those businesses to take control and update their own pages.
He went on to say that the “hive mind” of Bury St Edmunds was key to its success with lots of business all working together, in their own way, to support each other and the town itself.
So why this time? This time the website is much cleaner and very easy to navigate. It will always be fresh as businesses share their events and deals and discounts, and what also helps is that it is an app available on both Google Android and Apple iOs.
Luke then went on to speak with Debby Strowger, who says how she was blown away by the website and how comprehensive it is with all businesses including the Market Traders. She went on to say how she believes it will drive traffic with residents and also tourists.
Luke asked Anne Hawes what inspired her to be involved. Anne replied that she had worked with James before with events in St John’s Street promoting the street with videos, so has the confidence that the website will be even more positive to promote all of the businesses working together.
James then said how people could get the website, exploreburystedmunds.com and also on the app with Google Play and The App Store for Apple.
The interview was rounded up by Mark Murphy stating that already there are over 1200 businesses on the website.
