The 95-acre showground at the Annual County Show is an oasis of entertainment for all. Whether you’re an animal lover, a petrol head, a fan of crafts, a thrill seeker, a shopaholic or a foodie, you will find something to enjoy at the show. Each year, 10 to 12000 visitors flock to the show to experience its many attractions.
The Annual County Show features headline acts from around the country that are sure to keep you entertained. In addition, there are rural displays that showcase traditional local crafts and agriculture practices such as sheep shearing and blacksmithing. You can also see horse and livestock classes taking place in the pavilion and admire farm machinery new and old that are on display on the grounds.
For those looking for more than just entertainment, there’s plenty to explore in terms of shopping. There are numerous trade stands set up throughout the showground offering products ranging from local delicacies to handmade crafts. If you’d rather take it easy during your visit, there is also a picnic area where visitors can bring their own sustenance or alternatively enjoy some local ales at the public bar or savour some of the delicious food from one of many catering units sited around the showground.

Held annually on the 2nd Sunday in May, and now in its 133rd year, the ‘South Suffolk’ offers a fun-filled day in the great outdoors for all the family.
Gates open at 8:30am, with the Countryside Ring and Grand Ring Programmes commencing at 9.30 am and 10.00am respectively.
The South Suffolk Show takes place at the beautiful rural setting of Ampton point-to-point Racecourse, just off the A134 near Ingham, Bury St. Edmunds.
The site has excellent road links to the towns of Newmarket, Sudbury, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds, and is well sign-posted throughout the district.
