Our directors have strong roots within the local communities where they are based, a wealth of experience in our specialist sectors and a combined experience in the profession of over 50 years.
Our directors, Robin, Roger and Michael, first met when they were all working together at Thornton Baker located at Churchgate House, Churchgate Street in Bury St Edmunds – the location from which Churchgates takes its name.
In 1986, Thornton Baker became known as Grant Thornton and then in 1988, the practice moved to our current premises, 18 Langton Place. It was here that Robin, Roger and Michael met Alwyn Evans and Matthew Boardman. In March 2011, the Grant Thornton Bury St Edmunds office became Churchgates. Through reputation and recommendation, our client base continues to grow, and we now employ over 40 people.
