From the original manufacturer of thermostatic temperature control valves to trailblazers in diesel engine runaway prevention
From our beginnings in 1948, when Elton Fox designed and manufactured the very first wax element thermostatic temperature control valve, when our name was American Motors instead of AMOT, and when we operated from a single location in Richmond, California, our goal has been to provide our customers with the simple, reliable products they need to keep their equipment running smoothly, efficiently, and with minimal downtime
As we grew, both in size and product offerings, we entered the world of diesel engine safety, and our original goal took on new meaning. Our focus expanded beyond the health of industrial rotating equipment to the health and safety of those who operate it. We acquired the most knowledgeable leaders in air intake shutoff valve technology – Chalwyn, Roda Deaco, and Rigsaver – and responded to the need for education about the dangers of diesel engine runaway and how to prevent its devastating consequences.
Today, we are the only company in the world that offers the depth and breadth of product choices for the safety, control, and monitoring of rotating equipment. Throughout our 70-year history, we have worked closely with end-users and engine manufacturers alike to deliver the right solution for each application, whether it’s a product already in our portfolio, or one we custom design to exact user specifications.
