The shop was opened with the help of the local Dogs Trust team and some very important pooches, including Arthur the greyhound. Dogcilla, Dogs Trust’s larger than life mascot also rolled into town to help celebrate.
The dog-friendly shop is located on St John’s Street, within the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds, only 150 metres from Cornhill and the Buttermarket. It offers a wide range of second-hand goods from children’s clothes to household items to DVDs. Savvy shoppers and their canine counterparts will be able to browse the store together and all funds raised from donations and purchases will go towards supporting our nearby Rehoming Centre in Snetterton.
Dogs Trust Retail Area Manager, Claudine Lapsky said:
“We are delighted to be setting up shop here in Bury St Edmunds. It’s a fantastic place with a strong community spirit. We are excited to have our new concept “bringing the outdoors inside” décor in our retail shop. This store is set to be the most stylish second-hand shopping destination in Bury.
“We have already received so many generous donations but would be grateful for any extra items that can be spared. We’ll be stocking everything and anything – from clothes to ornaments and household items so come on down and wag yourself a bargain.”
