My Favourite Town – When I got on the Air Malaysia flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur, I didn’t know what would happen. I sat next to a Czech couple who were visiting Malaysia. We started talking and shared our stories.
The woman was a language teacher who had been to many places teaching languages. When I said I was from East Anglia near Cambridge, she got really excited. She wanted to know which town I was from. I told her “Bury St Edmunds” and she was amazed.

She said, “Oh my God! That is my absolute favorite town in the entire world!” She loved Bury St Edmunds because of its beautiful buildings, old streets, and interesting history. She had been there many times and always loved it more each time. It felt great to hear someone who had traveled so much say they loved my hometown.
