Tiny Footprint is in Newmarket, not far from Exning and within easy reach of the A14.

It is a sunny, bright learning environment to suit all ages with safe indoor and outdoor areas. There is space for bustling, noisy interaction, as well as quiet areas for thoughtful play, reflection and reading. We aim to spend 50% of our time off premises with the children to enhance their learning and development.

There is a designated area for arts, crafts and messy play which are loved by most children and so enjoyed on a regular basis!

A range of toys and learning resources are available for all ages and abilities and these are rotated depending on what topic we are following that week.

Musical instruments for singing time are another favourite – noise is encouraged during these sessions as the children love to join in and often make up their own rhymes and rhythms for the others to copy. (The triangle is also another favourite as the children try to see who can ‘ding’ it the quietest!)

Other toys to encourage play, to stretch the imagination and learning include: Brio railways, dinosaurs, a pink castle, rocket ship, dragons, wooden kitchen, cars, plastic and wooden animals, indoor Astroturf play scene; the list goes on!

There is carpet space for story time and books are always available for children to read, to be read to or to use as tents for the little people that they play with!

There is designated seating for cooking and snack time with water freely available.

The double patio doors lead straight outside onto wooden decking which is separated from the main grass areas. This space has a table and chairs which allows us to paint, draw and play outside in all weathers and is also used for outside snack time in the warmer months.

This separate area gives the little ones, and older children who do not want to always join in the rough and tumble of the others, their own quieter safe space to play, imagine, watch and enjoy. It has a water table, small play house and slide, ride on toys, seats and large colourful plastic building blocks.

The main part of the garden consists of two different level grass areas that contain play houses, slides, a swing, tunnels, see-saw rockers and a trampoline.

A separate area to the side of the garden is more overgrown to encourage learning about wildlife, the environment, nature and forest play. Here we look for insects, collect leaves and sticks, use crayons to do bark rubbing pictures and the children also use cameras to capture what they have created or seen to bring the outdoors inside.
